Miami sludge metal band Torche released their latest LP Meanderthal in 2008 to impressive critical success. It topped Decibel Magazine's list of 2008's best extreme albums and even scored a high ranking from Pitchfork (upon which I'm sure the band smirked and/or shrugged in amusement). The video for the album's single "Across the Shields" is a little like Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are on a few more drugs. But really, who doesn't want to dress up in creepy monster costumes and prance around the woods?
